According to Article 2, Section 6 of the 1987 Philippine constitution,

Come high water or earthquake, I don’t care if the CBCP threatens the President to be excommunicated or our lawmakers warning him to be steadfast on supporting artificial birth control: Slowing down our ballooning 90 million population is no easy task.
Family planning is only one element of reproductive health. Reproductive health has 11 essential elements:
1. Maternal, infant and child health and nutrition including breastfeeding;
2. Family planning information and services;
3. Proscription of abortion and management of abortion complications;
4. Adolescent and youth reproductive health;
5. Prevention and management of reproductive tract infections (RTIs), HIV, AIDS, and other sexually transmittable infections (STIs);
6. Elimination of violence against women;
7. Education on counselling and education on sexuality and reproductive health;
8. Treatment of breast and reproductive tract cancers and other gynecological conditions and disorders ;
9. Male responsibility and participation in reproductive health;
10. Prevention and treatment of infertility and sexual dysfunction;
11. Reproductive health education for the youth.
We have to enact House Bill 96 (Reproductive Health Bill) because it promotes and protects right to health. The RH bill is pro-life, pro-women, pro-poor.
There is no reason for us to be afraid of the RH Bill. 4000 moms die every year due to complications of pregnancy, 8000 babies die annually.
RH bill will actually help decrease abortions due to unplanned and unwanted pregnancies.
